Unforgettable is the only word to describe a round of golf on the course at Paradis where the fairways and greens curl along the shoreline of a spectacular bay against a backdrop of majestic mountains. The claim that this is one of the most beautiful golf courses in Mauritius is a valid one.

Built within the resort’s grounds, the 18-hole Par 72 golf course stretches along 5,924 metres between the iconic Morne Mountain and the crystal-clear lagoon of the Morne Peninsula. Much of the creative design of some bunkers and fairways is attributable to international golf legend Tony Johnstone who has spent some years playing the course through its many evolutionary stages.

The smooth green fairways are dotted with the bright colours of bougainvillea, flamboyant, poinsettias and araucarias, while the royal palms, filao and coconut trees complete the picture of tropical island style.

Choosing the right grass to suit the climate, the greens are planted with Seashore Paspalum, an ideal turf for the tropics.

Guests tee off a mere 20 meters from the beach and Reception area and play the fairways towards the mountain. The back nine holes are spread along the coastline where five water hazards offer a challenge to golfers both professional and amateur.

The elegant clubhouse has its own bar, where players can enjoy cool refreshments between rounds of golf. A dedicated Golf Director is responsible for the professional management of all aspects of the Golf Club at Paradis. Guests at Dinarobin also share use of the course.

Improve your game at the Paradis Golf Academy

Paradis Golf Club has a golf academy, designed with the assistance of French Pro Dominique Larretche. Private coaching by professionals assists beginners and seasoned golfers to improve their technique, building on their strengths and pinpointing their weaknesses. Personalised training and tailor-made coaching are devised to suit all categories of golfers using computer software coupled with video technology to track problems and iron them out.
Designed to be fun and entertaining, the “clinics” appeal to couples and families and are suitable for golfers of all levels.

A partnership with two championship golf courses

Golfers at Paradis may choose to play three 18-hole golf courses each with different atmospheres. Paradis has signed reciprocal agreements with two other golf courses located in the island’s southern region, Golf du Château and at Tamarina Golf Estate & Beach Club. Golf du Château gives players a colonial feel set in the grounds of the authentic colonial Château de Bel-Ombre midst vast sugar cane fields. “Out of Africa” is reflected at Tamarina Golf Estate & Beach Club where the course meanders along a huge riverine landscape with a towering mountain view.

Mini Club

Paradis’ mini-club welcomes kids aged 3 to 12 in a convivial area located at the heart of the hotel, close to the main areas.
Kids under three years are accepted, provided they are accompanied by their parents or a baby-sitter employed by the hotel.

The decor and atmosphere evoke the traditional Gaul village of Astérix, the famous character of the series of French comic strips.
The living areas, furnished with miniature tables and chairs specially designed for kids, open onto the mini-club’s gardens.
For added comfort and flexibility, the mini-club has its own restaurant. The interior consists of a spacious all-purpose room which houses kids’ toys and facilities as well as a dedicated TV corner.

Besides the traditional range of toys and games available to kids, Paradis’ mini-club is committed to provide unique activities, in line with the image of the resort, known to be a family-friendly 5-star resort.

For instance, kids from four years old can learn to water-ski in one of the most scenic lagoons in Mauritius whereas kids aged 6 to 12 can also learn the basics of golf.

A special programme, the “Bubble Maker” allows kids as from 8 years old to experience the thrill of diving in the pool under the professional care of a qualified instructor.
